Obituary for
Audrey Levandowski
Audrey C. Levandowski, age 90, currently of Plover and a longtime resident of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, following a fall at her home one day earlier. A Memorial Celebration of Audrey's life will be held this spring.
Born in Stevens Point on September 18, 1926 to Hobart N. and Edith Lorraine (Puariea) Paine, Audrey graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in May 1944. She married August B. Levandowski on September 30, 1944; they celebrated nearly 65 years of marriage until August's death in 2009. Audrey worked outside of the home after her marriage until they began their family, when she became a proud homemaker. She was a good cook and her family and friends especially loved her homemade baked goods.
Audrey and Augie shared many wonderful travels to nearly all of the 50 United States, including nearly 25 consecutive years of late fall/early winter vacations in Honolulu, Hawaii. Then, they would return to Wisconsin to run their income tax preparation business over the coldest of the winter months. Holiday Travel bus trips and “visits” to Las Vegas were also favorite getaways. In later years, Audrey enjoyed reading; playing cards and games; jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She also loved to “feed the birds and critters”. Extremely proud of her ancestor Jesse Paine of Massachusetts, a Private in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, Audrey was a member of the Stevens Point Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She is survived by her five children and their families: Sr. Lois M. Levandowski, SSJ, TOSF of Green Bay; Paul T. Levandowski and wife Patricia and daughter Nadia Jo (special friend Nathan Hanke) and granddaughter Ryleigh Jo of Fond du Lac; Mark R. Levandowski of Menomonee Falls; Marla J. Morgan and husband William C. Knudson of Marshfield (daughters Tiffany Medina of Torrington, CT and Kacie Carter of Sanford, NC); Joel M. Levandowski and wife Jane and daughters Kelci Erin (fiancé Luke Groskreutz) and Rebeckah Rose of Eau Claire. Also, her sisters-in-law Betty Paine of Tucson, AZ and Anne Levandowski of Milwaukee; nieces and nephews and many very special friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Hobart (May 1966) and Lorraine (February 1974); her grandmother E. Pearle (Gotchy) Halladay (May 1982); loving husband August B. Levandowski (July 25, 2009); her brother Hobart J. Paine (March 2008) and her sister Bonnie Jean Wanta (October 2008).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Stevens Point Salvation Army, 1600 Briggs Street, Stevens Point, WI 54481, or a charity of the donor's choice. A Memorial service for Audrey will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at the Shuda/Plover Funeral home at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Plover Village Cemetery.
