Mae Spangle
Mae K. Spangle age 92 of Stevens Point, passed away Friday morning February 10, 2017 at the Atrium Living Center in Whiting, where she has resided since 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mae will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM Tuesday morning until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Mae was born May 3, 1924 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Ceplina) Russell. She graduated from P.J.Jacobs High School in 1942 She married Henry Ripplinger in September of 1945. He passed away in 1950. Mae held various jobs in the area including being a desk clerk at the Hotel Whiting, before beginning her career at the Copps Corporation, where she worked for 32 years until her retirement. Mae married George Spangle on April 27, 1959 at St. Joseph Church. Mae enjoyed many activities including, golf, racquetball, biking, ice skating and roller skating. Mae was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mae is survived by her brother: Robert (MaryAnn) Russell and her sister Elaine Pflugardt. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, her husband George in 2004, her son Douglas Robert who passed in 1946, Her sister Ruth and her brother Lawrence. 2 brother-in-laws: Earl Pflugardt and Harvey Hill and her sister-in-law Bernice Russell.
