Obituary for
Dean Rodeback
Charles “Dean” Rodeback of Rural Norske (Iola) left us unexpectedly on Friday, February 17, 2017. Born August 12, 1958 to Charles Hutchison and Carole Dean Rodeback in Chicago, Illinois. Dean graduated in 1976 from Hampshire High School in Hampshire, Illinois. He married his high school sweetheart Cynthia Lynn Rice on April 4, 1979 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
They have three phenomenal children; Carsen James of Tampa, Florida, Forrest Glen of Blackfoot, Idaho, and Darcie Lynn of “downtown” Norske (Iola). They also have a wonderful daughter-in-law Marisha Perry Rodeback (Forrest) and two adorable granddaughters, Hurley Rose and Marley June.
Dean was a lifelong diesel mechanic, most recently working at IROW in Mosinee. In Illinois he had been employed by Drexler Horse Transportation, Buck Bros./John Deere, and Allen’s Corner Towing, all of Hampshire. His knowledge of trucks and “turning wrenches” was well known, and folks knew he could “fix just about anything.”
He was a 4-H leader for Hampshire Jr. Farmers, the Cub Master with Hampshire Pack 22, and the president of the Ag Advisory Council at Hampshire H.S. In Wisconsin, he was a member of Rosholt FFA Alumni.
Known for his massive bear hugs that he shared with whomever he could- including all of the “extra” children that he loved in his life.
He and Cindy, with help from family and friends, were able to build their “dream” log home near Norske on their wooded acres. He enjoyed deer hunting, Dodge trucks, and making maple syrup with the Schuester family.
He had a devout belief in his faith and was known to “give the best prayers” at group dinners.
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Also his mother Carole of Montana and siblings Catherine Rodeback of Virginia, Barb (Chuck) Barrett of Montana, Danny (Anita) Rodeback of Minnesota, Linda (Mac) Suarez of Illinois, Steve (Lori) Rodeback of Illinois, Paul (Ycinda) Rodeback of Illinois, Nancy “Jack” (Darren) Sundquist of Minnesota, and Cynthia Hinsley of Montana; Also many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
