Harry Napiwocki
Harry E. Napiwocki, age 85 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at Ministry St. Michaels Hospital on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Harry will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday June 6, 2017 at Holy Spirit Parish. Rev. Thomas Lindner will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:00 - 10:45 am on Tuesday at the church. A private burial will take place at a later date.
Harry was born November 1, 1931 to Alexander and Josephine (Kowalewski) Napiwocki. He was the youngest of nine children. He married Rita Dudzik, the love of his life, on June 16, 1952. He was called to service shortly after marriage, serving with Battery “A”, 14th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, spending most of his 18 months of enlistment in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. After his discharge in 1954, he returned to Stevens Point where he worked for the Central Company and later in life at the Holiday Inn & Holidome as the maintenance engineer.
Harry loved hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, polka dancing and an occasional trip to the casino, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a master at woodworking, electrical work, and could fix anything. He will be remembered as a man of many talents with extreme patience. Harry was also an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan.
Harry and Rita were happily married almost 65 years and were blessed with five children. He is survived by his wife Rita, son Roger (Linda), son Patrick (Betsy), daughter Julie (Mike) French, and son Mark (Renee). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, A.J., Eric, Danielle, Sara, Nicole, Kara and Nate, six great grandchildren, and nine Godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Alan, four brothers and three sisters. His only surviving brother is Albin Napiwocki.
Harry's family would like to thank the staff at Ministry St. Michaels Hospital for their excellent care and comfort during this difficult time.
