Ronald Werachowski
Ronald Jerome Werachowski age 85, passed away July 8, 2016 at St. Michaels Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish in Custer. Rev. Greg Michaud will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Plover-Shuda Funeral Home in Plover. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00. A Visitation will also be held from 10:00 - 10:45 AM before the Mass on Wednesday at the church.
Ronald was born January 12, 1931 in Cook County, IL, the son of Jerome and Gertrude (Cisewski) Werachowski. As a child they moved to Stevens Point and Ronald graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1950. He served his country in the United States Air Force joining the service in March of 1951. He served in the Air Police, stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topecka, KS. Ronald was honorably discharged from the reserves as a staff sergeant in October 1963.
He married Ruth Pieczynski on November 10, 1951. They owned and operated Ronnie's Bar in Arnott, and he worked as a pressman at Worzalla Publishing for 28 years until his retirement.
Ronald is survived by his wife Ruth; 2 sons: Tony (Bonnie) and Jeff (Debra); 3 daughters: Judy (Charlie) Sankey; Michele (Wally) Bieniewski; Lisa (Jerome) Firkus. 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons: Rick and Mikey, 1 daughter-in-law Marilyn, 1 grandson Eric, and 1 sister Barbara Adamski.
The family would like to express gratitude for the loving care received at St. Michaels Hospital I.C.U. while he was there.
